Backyard Poultry and Homemade Cheese - Hands on Skill Building Workshop (2 day workshop offered in association with the June 2010 Farm Tour)
Quail Springs’ farm managers, Brenton Kelly and Jan Smith, taught a workshop in the basics of backyard poultry (egg laying & meat birds) and beginning cheese making, with a little goat milking and animal husbandry thrown in. 6 person minimum, 10 person maximum attendance. $150 tuition per person, includes all of the below activities & meals...
Workshop Activities & Meals: Farm Tour & Lunch, cost included. Cob Oven Feast that night with an introduction to earth oven cooking. A night of camping in the beautiful high desert. Morning tea & light breakfast. Witness morning goat milking! Intro to basic backyard poultry & butchering with Brenton. Delicious homegrown lunch provided by Quail Springs.
